All fired up for Bonfire Night
You really know that winter is just around the corner when the signs advertising Bonfire Night events sprout up around the county.
Guy Fawkes or Bonfire Night is an event that provides a thrill for the whole family. Whether it is the spectacular fireworks lighting the sky, the crackling bonfire with its ghoulish guy on top or the smell of hot dogs and toffee apples, there is just something about the evening that keeps us all enthralled.
There are a number of events around the county over the weekend ahead of 5 November as well as on the evening itself.

Iconic setting for grand display
The Clifftop Fireworks and Bonfire at Old Hunstanton is set against the majestic backdrop of the iconic Hunstanton cliffs. The event, which takes place on 2 November, has now become a major attraction in the seaside town. There are also fairground rides, entertainment, music, DJs, a laser show and food stalls. Gates open at 5pm, the fire is lit at 6pm and fireworks go off at 7.30pm.
First Bonfire Night at new rugby home
Wymondham Rugby Club is holding the first Bonfire Night in its new home at Barnard Fields on 1 November. The display itself is at 7.30pm but there are fun fair rides, stalls and a German sausage hut!
In Attleborough, the organisers have ratcheted things up with this year’s Fireworks Extravaganza. The fun fair is bigger than ever and there is also face painting, lots of food stalls and a mini disco. The event, which is taking place on 1 November, is being held at Connaught Hall and starts at 6pm.
Early fireworks display in Norwich
If you are in Norwich on the 26 October, you could get an early taste of firework action at Sparks in the Park. The event is taking place in Catton Park, off Oak Lane. The event is raising money to maintain the park itself and there will be a mix of food stalls and entertainment.
A little closer to West Beckham, the Cromer Family Fireworks show takes place on 1 November at Suffield Park Infant School. The event, which is raising money for the school will have a barbecue, sand art, food stalls and fairground rides. The fireworks start at 6.30pm.

Lighting up King’s Lynn
One of the largest displays in the county takes place in Kings Lynn at the annual Fawkes in the Walks. The firework display is entirely free and takes place on 1 November in The Walks. The park itself will be packed with stalls and rides and the firework display will take place around 8pm. Once again, local radio station KLFM and The Borough Council of King’s Lynn are organising the free event. This year there will be a dedicated SnapChat filter so people can share their images of the event.
These are just a few of the events that are taking place around Norfolk. For information on these, or any other events that are taking place during your stay at Rookery Farm Barns, do contact us via email or phone.
